It's so easy to treat Advent like checking a box. Marietta Catholic Young Adults invites you to a series of Advent Evenings of Reflection this month where a speaker will talk to us about what it looks like to have intimacy with God in prayer. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

What does intimacy with God in prayer--and in life--look like? Marietta Catholic Young Adults explores what it looks like to see Advent not just as checking off a checkbox but as an invitation to intimacy with God.

The first MCYA Advent Talk explored the invitation that God extends to each of us to intimacy with Him. This video discusses the resistance we encounter in our hearts when we seek to respond to that call.

Seminarian Ben Thomsen talks to us about some of the practicalities of prayer. He principally makes the point that reflecting on what prayer is and what it isn't is extremely helpful in learning how to pray.

Why does the Church make a big deal about Mary? Catholics do not worship Mary, but the Church, following the early Church, sees Mary as our Mother. What can that relationship look like, and how does Mary always lead us to better know, follow, and love Jesus?
