Singing the "Veni Creator Spiritus"

  • St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church 1618 Ben King Road Kennesaw, GA, 30144 (map)

The Church grants a plenary indulgence to those who publicly pray the Veni Sancte Spiritus (Come, Creator Spirit) on the first day of the year so as to ask God's blessing on the year.

The usual conditions apply (pray for the Pope's intentions, receive Communion that day, go to confession within a week of the act, and perfect detachment from all sin).

While we are not organizing praying this together virtually (we'll pray the Veni Sancte Spiritus together after Sunday's Recited Vespers), we recommend you pray these on your own, which would obtain a partial indulgence since it's not a public act.
